We firmly believe that everyone deserves a relaxing holiday in The Velveteen Bath House.

We are fully committed to making our cottage accessible and inclusive for all guests, including people with physical disabilities, sensory sensitivities, and hidden conditions. We comply with the UK Equality Act 2010 by making reasonable adjustments to ensure no guest is placed at a disadvantage.

Information before your stay

  • We contact every guest at least 1 week before arrival to provide information about the house and local area.
  • Our welcome email also checks if any guests have specific needs or requirements for their stay and will do all we can to accommodate whatever these may be.
  • We have an industry standard Access Statement with full details on access to the external approach to the property, parking, the garden and each room in the property which can be provided to every guest in advance if required.

Sensory and Hidden Disabilities

  • In every room in the property we have ensured that low level lighting can be selected if preferred, alongside brighter overhead options if needed.
  • Our House Book includes full easy to follow instructions for all appliances in the house.

Assistance Dogs & Pets

  • We are fully pet-friendly and welcome assistance dogs without the normal pet fee.
  • Our rear garden is fully enclosed and safe for your dog to roam without escaping.
  • We provide lots of additional extras for your assistance dog including areas to wash them, towels, bowls, poo bags and treats.

Reduced Mobility

  • The Velveteen Bath House has room for 2 cars to park off road, right outside our front door.
  • We have designed a large kitchen and wide entrance without a door into the cinema room.
  • There is a downstairs toilet and walk in shower.
  • The master bedroom also has a walk in shower.
  • We sloped access from the hallway into the kitchen to avoid any steps in the downstairs area.
